June 2013
At the beginning of June we decided to do a body cleanse to get rid of all the bad stuff in our bodies and start fresh with healthy eating, drinking, and better eating habits. We decided to go with the Isagenix cleanse. We did the 9 day program where we cleansed four out of the nine days. Our first weigh in Jake weighed 220 lbs. I weighed 187 lbs. We drank a lot of soda pop and ate a lot of junk food prior to the cleanse. We started the cleanse on a Saturday. The cleanse was extremely hard for the first couple of days. Trying to train your body to eat less, getting rid of your cravings, and sometimes not eating at all on the cleanse days. There were a lot of times I could have slipped and took a sip of soda or ate a candy bar, but doing it together gave us motivation and support so we actually did really good. At the end of our nine days Jake had lost 10 lbs and I had lost 7 lbs. We also felt great! The cleanse helped out a lot with my stress levels and it made both of us just feel good physically. I can say that I'm hooked on cleansing now.
After our cleanse we have took matters into our own hands. We are watching our calorie consumption and working out regularly to try to loose more weight and be healthy. We have completely cut soda out of our lives. There is soda in my fridge so if I have visitors I can offer them a drink, but we don't drink anything. I have to say I think that's spectacular if we can actually have it in the fridge, but be so determined that we won't drink it. I have always wanted to loose weight and get healthy, but I never had anything until now to make me be so determined. Since this IVF cycle will be our last we want to make sure we have done everything we possibly can to make it work, so if it don't work we know we did all we could do. This might not only help me in carrying a full length pregnancy, but it will be a life long benefit to be healthy and active.
I want to add in that I'm so proud of my husband. He has been so supportive and so determined with all of this. Throughout all of this he told me if he could take my place and go through all the shots, appointments, etc. he would. He hates to see me hurting. When he we found out that getting healthy and loosing weight might benefit us, he took it 100% full on. He said this is finally something I can do with you. He has been so strong with all of this. He is taking all of this very serious and keeps track of his calories with me. He has truly been my rock through it all and I couldn't ask for any one better to be with.

It has been about a month since the start of our lifestyle change. As of this morning Jake has lost 17 lbs weighing in at 203. I have lost 13 lbs weighing in at 174. We have discussed a timeline of when we want to start the next IVF procedure. We are hoping to start it in October or November of this year. It all depends on our finances of course, but that's are goal. Here's to many months of healthy eating and many lbs lost in the meantime. I will keep you posted on our journey.

Well it has been a little while since I blogged last. In the past month and a half we have continued with our weight loss, healthy eating journey. Jake is still doing amazing. He has lost 35 lbs weighing in at 195. He has met his goal of 200 lbs. He has continued eating healthy. He don't want to loose much more weight but he now wants to start toning. Being his wife I can say I sure do have a good looking husband. He was good looking before, but now he's a hunk!! :) I have also continued eating healthy and working out. I still have a lot of weight and toning to do, but I weighed in this morning at 169 which is 18 lbs so far. It seems to go a lot more slowly for me than Jake, but I'm hanging in there. We are doing a cleanse once a month as well to continue to keep our bodies healthy. I am very proud of us both for keeping the determination to move forward.
We have had many great opportunities to spend time with our families over the summer. We have been on Harley rides, birthdays, camping trips, city celebrations, etc. I do love every minute of spending time with our families. To watch our nieces and nephews grow is spectacular. We are truly blessed to be an Aunt and Uncle to 12 nieces and nephews. They truly are my comfort in all of this.
Jake and I's anniversary is in November, however we took an early anniversary and spent a weekend in Yellowstone National Park. We took our two kids (dogs) and had a fabulous time spending the weekend together as a family. I can't wait to take our children there one day! In the hustle and bustle of all our activities we have been preparing for a 5k that is sponsored by Footsteps for Fertility. They are holding the 5k in hopes of raising money to put into grants to give the opportunity to couples that need fertility treatment to win. Jake and I have registered for the 5k. We have also registered as a team. Our team name is Team Reynolds All the $ goes towards $5,000 grants that will be awarded to the registered couples after the race. The more people that sign up, the more grants there will be. In your register packet you will receive a raffle ticket. If you join our team, you will put our name on your raffle ticket to give us a better chance of getting pulled out for a grant. The more people we get to sign up on our team the more tickets we get in the drawing and the better our odds are to win. The date of the race is August 31, 2013. If you are out of state or you just simply can't make it to the race but you want to register for us you can choose the sleep-in option. If you register, please let me know so we can pick up your packet the day before the race. I have attached a link with all the information you need to register. This also has more information regarding the race.
We are so excited to attend this run. Even if we don't win a grant the $ goes to a great cause and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of this. If you are interested in running with us and joining our team, please let me know and I would be more than happy to help you register! I will keep you posted on our continued journey and post pictures of the race afterwards.
I want to first thank everyone who signed up for the Footsteps for Fertility 5k for us! We had a great team! A lot of our team was not able to make it to the run, but we appreciate all the support more than words can say whether you were with us or not! We had so much fun!! The race was on a beautiful morning at Liberty Park. After the race they drew for the grants and IVF treatments. Unfortunately we did not win anything, but I was so humbled by the experience. Everyone was so overjoyed with what they had received. We all felt so much emotion. I deep down wanted to win something so badly, but it was easy to accept the rejection to know that everyone that won appreciated it just as much as we would have. This was truly something I could walk away from and feel no regret that I had attended and put 100% into, even if we didn't get anything out of it.

September 2013
The weeks after the run have been busy. We are continuing our weight loss / healthy lifestyle which is going great. I have lost a total of 22 lbs and Jake has lost a total of 35 lbs so far. I am getting ready to do some fierce working out to try and get to what my normal BMI weight should be. I have 16 lbs more to loose before I'm there. As tough as it's been I know I can do it! We are getting closer to starting our second IVF treatment. We have figured out financing for the fourth time and I called our RE to schedule an appointment with the IVF coordinator to go over the medication and calendar. I am getting super excited / nervous about this! I have a great feeling knowing that we are doing absolutely everything we can to prepare. We are in the best physical shape we have ever been in, I have tried to prepare myself emotionally (I'm not sure that you really can, but I'm trying) and our spirituality outlook about the whole experience has changed tremendously for the better. I know that if we are not blessed with a child this go around, that IVF is just not for us and we need to find a different road to take.
My first due date is also creeping up on us and I know that day will be filled with sadness. Knowing that I could be holding our first child in my arms kills me, but I also know that I already started a beautiful family in heaven and it eases my fear of dying knowing that I will return to my children that didn't get to be here on earth with us. I know our heavenly father has a plan for us and everything we have done so far and are continuing to do is preparing us for that plan!!
After our appointment in October we will know more detailed information. I will keep you posted on what's to come!

October 2013
Hello everyone! On October 4, 2013 we had our Dr. appointment to discuss our next cycle. This procedure is going to be pretty much the same as our other IVF procedure, however we are going to be using different medication and I will have to do stomach injections for a longer period of time. This time I will not have to do the intramuscular injections so I'm super excited about that! We are primarily focusing on the quality of our embryos for this treatment because we think that was the cause of my miscarriages. I start the injections on November 11, 2013 (Wahoo!!) and I have tentatively scheduled the egg retrieval day for December 6, 2013 and the transfer day for December 11, 2013. Of course this may change depending on how my body reacts to the medication, but the last procedure seemed to follow our calendar pretty spot on so we are thinking this time will too. After the 5k a lot of people that were not able to attend asked how they could donate to Jake and I to help us out for our next cycle. I decided to create a gofundme website so anyone who would like to donate can go to that website at www.gofundme.com/reynolds. The money donated will go to the medication needed for this IVF cycle. We appreciate all the continued support that you have continually given us and look forward to our next cycle. We will be going to a lot of Dr. appointments starting November 11, 2013 so I will be posting often to keep you all updated. Thanks again and we will be in touch soon! :)
